OUR ACTIVITY

The information-library centers of Karakalpakstan Republic, regions and the cities of Tashkent subordinated to the Uzbek communication agency and information, are formed on the basis of Republican library of Karakalpakstan Republic, regional scientifically-universal libraries, and also the Tashkent central city library. The Republican information-library centre coordinates work of the information-library centers. For the period 2006-2009 is made:

1. The equipment. UzACI has directed through RILC: 2006 – 100 computers of Р-IV class 2007 – 153 personal computers, 14 servers, printers, scanners, copiers and other office equipment. 2008 – in all ILC working local networks are established.

2. Electronic resources 2006 – all ILC are connected to an educational information network «ZiyoNET» 2007 – the Center of preparation and support of young programmers CPSYP together with RILC with support of UzACI has started working out of the national automated information-library system (AILC). 2008 – CPSYP has finished works on creation of AILC. AILC «КАDАТА» has begun approbation in several ILC. 2009 – CPSYP on the basis of ILC remarks has let out new version AILC «КАDАТА 2.0». Installation of the system begun in all the countries IBTS. 2006-2009 – electronic catalogue ILC – 200 thousand records is created. The bibliographic database and electronic collections of books and printing editions, rare funds is created

3. Is standard-legal base 2006 –Position about ILC were developed and registered. Instructions for ILC use. 2007 – 2008 – RILC with support of UzACI has started transfer and completion of interstate standards on information system, library and to publishing (ISLP). ISLP of 3 volumes from 55 standards is published and transferred gratuitously in information-library establishments of the country. 2009 – 2 national standards on ISLP are registered in UzGosstandarte and then begun their implementation. 2006-2009 – together with National library of Uzbekistan in all interested ministries and departments of 2 basic bills «About information-library activity» and «About an obligatory copy of documents» are developed and co-ordinated . 2009 – Professional magazine «Kutubxona. Uz». started to edit.

4. Improvement of professional skill 2006-2009 more than 400 experts ILC have passed courses of improvement of qualification (staff ILC 800 units, lilbrarian workers – 550 units) 2006 and 2008 on the basis of the Khorezm ILC and Fergana areas together with National library of Uzbekistan 4 and 5 International conferences on a library science are spent. 2008 – 2 international seminars-trainings for experts ILC and IRC with participation of experts of the Russian national library (St.-Petersburg) are spent. 2006-2009 – regional (zone) seminars are regularly held 2008 – 2009 – directors of the best ILC with support of UzAsI participate in work 15 and 16 Crimean conferences of librarians

5. Electronic library 2007 – RILC with support of UzAsI has made an application on reception of the grant of Republic Korea. 2008 – Republic Korea has considered the problem on allocation possibility on creation of electronic library of the scientific and technical literature. There are begun consultations of experts of the Korean International agency on cooperation (KOICA). The president of Republic Uzbekistan signs the decision № 952 from August, 26th, 2008 «About measures on creation of electronic library of the scientific and technical literature with attraction of the grant of the Government of Republic Korea» 2009 – the intergovernmental agreement on allocation of the grant of Republic Korea on creation of electronic library of the scientific and technical literature is signed.

6. Material base of UzAСI for the purpose of improvement and strengthening of material base ILC for reconstruction, capital and operating repair by own (involved) means has directed: 2007 – more than 200 million 2008 – more than 1 billion 2009 – more than 700 million For ILC it has been got for use as mobile libraries 8 motor vehicles of mark DAMAS. For these years the new building has received ILC of Karakalpakstan where was spent full reconstruction, in 7 ILC major repairs, and in the others operating repair are carried out.

7. Cooperation 2007 – At RILC the Scientifically-methodical council consisting of leading experts of the country is formed. 2007-2009 – contracts on cooperation with the All-Russia institute of the scientific and technical information, the Russian national library and Government Public Science-engineering Library of Russia are concluded.

8. The international book-exchange Since 2008 in RILC is adjusted the international book-exchange with All-Russian Institute of Scientific and Technical Information, RNL and the State public scientific and technical library of Russia.

9. Methodical work. ILC in regions with IRC, countryside libraries, libraries for blind and libraries of military units carry out joint actions, methodical work, raise their qualification.

10. Implementation of ICT. In all ILC created web sites which are constantly updated Since 2009 on the basis of ILC regional structures (branches) of the Center of preparation and support of young programmers with support and at the initiative of UzAsI stage by stage open.
